I can't be the only one who LOVED everything Amerie touched. I refuse to believe that.  So, when I see her name… I click.

Kinda feeling this vibe on a Monday.  Hoping this means an album or EP is in the works.  

Before I get back to my workflow… can I say it bothers me when people say an artist is underrated? I'll be the first to admit I've said it too but I'm trying to work that term out of my vocabulary.  Like, YOU know how good the artist is…so share the song like it’s the gospel. Yea, everyone likes awards, money or various accolades that come with the mainstream approval. But real art is about the music.  Amerie is a REAL artist. I like this song...ALOT. Vibes for days. I'm hoping to hear more from Lucky Daye. Video Visuals were A1 and saw scenes with the band which...matters to me.  Good music is collaborative in many ways.

Before we click… Can we talk about the melody?!?!? Flowed with the drums...changes rhyme schemes… and the words remained potent. Really digging it.

Honestly (pun intended) I found this song by accident. YouTube recommend.  If I could see Mr. YouTube right now I'd give him some dap. This song needs to be played at high volume.  

Lyrics...voice...video visuals…I was just...blown away.  So simple yet...left an impression embedded in my mind.

Royce da 5'9" - Cocaine

Without getting into it… I relate to this song.  Almost too much (minus the happy ending so to speak).  Royce is brilliant on this track. Melodic, deep, inspiring without being preachy… and the song breathed Hip Hop.

I heard the album and was blown away. I heard the song and almost cried.  A notable MC came out last year and had the audacity to say that Hip Hop doesn’t have songs that make you feel like this. I don’t know what’s in his Hip Hop, but mine helped to raise me.  I sure Royce’s last album, Book of Ryan, does the same. Press Play
