“And we ain't too high
To see eye to eye
Know you feel the rush
From a simple touch, baby
Roll some mo” - Lucky Daye

My mood. On Sooooo many levels. Ever have the weekend end but you.are.not. ready?  I know I have… This some makes me slow down when I feel the rush

I like this song...ALOT. Vibes for days. I'm hoping to hear more from Lucky Daye. Video Visuals were A1 and saw scenes with the band which...matters to me.  Good music is collaborative in many ways.

Before we click… Can we talk about the melody?!?!? Flowed with the drums...changes rhyme schemes… and the words remained potent. Really digging it.

Don't let the day bring you down y'all… Press Play.

Mac Ayres - Get to You Again

maxresdefault.jpg

This song… This ARTIST...speaks to my soul.  Each album delivers a melodic journey you can't help but be restored after its conclusion. Mostly cuz...the vibe remains infinite.  He's not in the video but… if you've been listening to Mac Ayres...he IS the video. Music stays smooth. On some new age easy listening with a mix of contemporary wavy vibes.

“Ooh, I heard she never said she'd fall
She just had taken something stupid
She probably won't expect my call
So I ain't making it” - Mac Ayres

Whether I'm in my feels or not… I check for this man.  Keep doing what you're doing Mac Ayres. The world appreciates. Press Play

Anderson Paak - Tints Ft. Kendrick Lamar

Albumism_AndersonPaak_KendrickLamar_MainImage1.jpg

“I got way too much to lose, so roll your window up real quick
I need tints (windows tinted) I need tints “

-Anderson Paak

When I first heard tints, I liked it.  When I watched the video, I LOVED it. Sometimes the visual can just...enhance things.

Now, I’ll be honest, Anderson Paak and Kendrick Lamar can do and have done no wrong in my eyes.  So I was waiting patiently for this release. I’m so glad it didn’t disappoint.

“(I need tint) so I can live with a peace of mind
Without niggas takin' a piece of mine “

-Kendrick Lamar

Calvin Harris - Feels Ft. Pharrell, Big Sean and Katy Perry

calvin-harris-feels-video-1100.jpg

Sigh. Every now and then there is a song that is too good. I said it. TOO GOOD. So good it goes OVER the head of mainstream. But PROPS, (insert irregular 3rd person rant here) this video has over 446 million views. What are you talking about? Then why do I keep putting people on to this song?!?!? Probably the same reason why I got put on to this song (shout out to DJ G$Money).

This song...came out a minute ago…but the vibe is timeless to me. Calvin Harris nailed the sound with a perfect blend of artists. It's pretty criminal how good this song is. So until somebody posts bail...press play.

*okay, that was pretty corny...hate me later

Anderson .Paak: Come Down

“And you talking all that shit, now come on

You gonna have to back it up”

If you are a writer...every line, every word, syllable and flow matters to you.  You want them to hear it all.  To quote one of the greats:

“INHAAALE, my rhyme is kinda fat reminiscent of a whale” –Q Tip

Enter Anderson .Paak…yes, the “new ” R&B artist.  Have you listened to his songs?!?!?! His words!?!?! This brother got bars!!! What’s amazing is that everything...from the sound to the lyrics have purpose…cause it is.  He has a catalogue to prove it.  This brother is gifted.

Now, if you’re a casual listener…you’ll still love him.  Beats are fiyah.  1st and last bars of every verse are iron clad…but just hear me when I say “sit with the songs for a while”

It does something to you. The Production/Musicianship is so thorough.  Lyrics are shady…yes, oh yes! He meant to do you dirty like that!

“Can't see her with this pitch black Gucci frames on

Let me take these bitches off

Let me get the full scope, hold up

Huh, full screen, HD, let me take another picture”

Just…listen.  But if you listen, sit.  Cause this shit will hit you hard.  I prefer his album “Venice” but “Malibu” is a great follow up.  You can’t really be disappointed with an artist that takes his sound this seriously.  He’s authentically fresh.  It’s surreal.  Do me a favor though.  Don't say he sounds like anyone.  When you realize how long he’s been doing this on stage it can make you wonder if he's influenced others but...I digress.  C'mon sun.  He’s not new.  He’s just new to you.  N’ that’s cool.  Just stay a while.  Inhale.

“Whoa, cool beans, cool beans

That's a whole lot of reefer

Let me help you with the pre-roll”

Salaam Remi: More than Music Feat. Lemar

What's the first word (or words) that comes to mind when you think of Salaam Remi? Producer.  Keyboardist.  Hip Hop.  Strong album?   While he's worked with artists like Nas, Fugees, Jazmine Sullivan and Alicia Keys...did you know he dropped an album of his own in 2013?  Well this is one of the songs that moves me and on Valentine's day it felt right to give it a listen.

The title says it all and if you are creative, you know what it's like to put NOTHING before your craft.  Rightly so.  But what happens when someone inspires you so much it just organically happens?  I'll tell you what happens...you get this song.  N' it's GOOD.  The song I mean (the love can be too).

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

BTW- Honorable mention to Neyo "Stay" feat. Peedi Crack. Just add them both to your playlist.  You deserve it Happy Valentine's Day. ;-)
