Sigh. Every now and then there is a song that is too good. I said it. TOO GOOD. So good it goes OVER the head of mainstream. But PROPS, (insert irregular 3rd person rant here) this video has over 446 million views. What are you talking about? Then why do I keep putting people on to this song?!?!? This song needs to be re-released. I don't care if it's from the 70's. Everyone needs this song to be a house staple! Don't get me wrong..I rocked hotline bling til nausea like everyone else. But this song deserves to be given its due.

I need this song...and I think "need" is more important than "love". We're all big boys and girls so I think it's alright if we agree to disagree. I love this song for so many reasons. Primarily because Nina Simone is arguably one of the mothers' of soul and my Mom Loves Nina Simone.

Growing up made me realize how amazing my mother is. Calm under pressure, resiliency, and determination with conviction among other things...I all got those skills from her. I could amount to a third of who she is I'd consider myself a success. I remember hearing Nina through different times of my life. So it seems fitting to share one. Happy mothers day.
