Enter Anderson .Paak…yes, the “new ” R&B artist. Have you listened to his songs?!?!?! His words!?!?! This brother got bars!!! What’s amazing is that everything...from the sound to the lyrics have purpose…cause it is. He has a catalogue to prove it. This brother is gifted.
Now, if you’re a casual listener…you’ll still love him. Beats are fiyah. 1st and last bars of every verse are iron clad…but just hear me when I say “sit with the songs for a while”
It does something to you. The Production/Musicianship is so thorough. Lyrics are shady…yes, oh yes! He meant to do you dirty like that!

Just…listen. But if you listen, sit. Cause this shit will hit you hard. I prefer his album “Venice” but “Malibu” is a great follow up. You can’t really be disappointed with an artist that takes his sound this seriously. He’s authentically fresh. It’s surreal. Do me a favor though. Don't say he sounds like anyone. When you realize how long he’s been doing this on stage it can make you wonder if he's influenced others but...I digress. C'mon sun. He’s not new. He’s just new to you. N’ that’s cool. He's been blowing up and steadily on the rise...he could have easily done the song but went with Rhianna and it's been a hit ever since. The rest is history. Or Work.

ATTENTION all R&B lovers!!! This ALBUM is in heavy rotation. The song "Don't Go" is worth keeping on repeat on those occasions when you're in that mood. Not to mention this album makes it easy to be a music lover. Something about listening to a complete album…not having to skip a track in the car or at home... it's just refreshing. They don’t come along often. How rare is it? Track 2, maybe by track 3 max, you're used to skipping a song or interlude. We’ve become accustomed to moving from artist to artist as if someone can’t be creative enough to keep one's musical pallet engaged from beginning to end. Not the case with the album "Painting Sounds". Like clockwork, playing Kyle Dion around people makes friends and family ask the typical question by the time track 2 comes around. “Who is THIS?!?!?”
The album is fiyah. The song is nostalgic and original at the same time. Strong writing rivaling the production usually makes for a great song. Possibly great album? In this case yes. Check him out ya’ll. He’s worth the listen and time that you’ve been waiting for good music. #priceless

I love African music. I love soca music. So when I was put on by a co-worker to some new African music, lately I’ve been finding little time for anything else. Then this song came around and made my world stop twice:-) Afrosoca! Lemme repeat that one more time...

This song makes you feel great. I’m serious. The words and the production just inspire each other. The vibe remains soulful but powerful enough to make you want to play the song at the most random of times. In my case, King “The Greatest” makes me feel like I am that dude at the beginning of a long day.
