Boogie - Self Destruction

Boogie in _Self Destruction_ video.png

Maaaaaaaan!!!! Y'all need to know bout Boogie man.  This guy makes songs with staying power. You csn tell his intent is to LAST! This one is a lil less content heavy but the vibe has purpose. Not to mention his syncopation on the track...100 gun salute!

“Can't remember nothin'
Still don't give no fucks when
Wildin' out in public
This my self destruction” - Boogie

I don't know man...don't underestimate this song. In a lot of ways there are some metaphors that make you look at the fabric of society and see it for what it is. Self destructive. If you think I'm reaching...you don't know Boogie.

Feeling a lil hype today y'all...so if you're like me… Press play

Pink Sweat$ - Honesty

Honestly (pun intended) I found this song by accident. YouTube recommend.  If I could see Mr. YouTube right now I'd give him some dap. This song needs to be played at high volume.

Lyrics...voice...video visuals…I was just...blown away.  So simple yet...left an impression embedded in my mind.

Looking forward to hearing more from Pink Sweat$. Check out his song drama when you get the chance.  It won't disappoint.

Mac Ayres - Get to You Again

This song… This ARTIST...speaks to my soul.  Each album delivers a melodic journey you can't help but be restored after its conclusion. Mostly cuz...the vibe remains infinite.  He's not in the video but… if you've been listening to Mac Ayres...he IS the video. Music stays smooth. On some new age easy listening with a mix of contemporary wavy vibes.

“Ooh, I heard she never said she'd fall
She just had taken something stupid
She probably won't expect my call
So I ain't making it” - Mac Ayres

Whether I'm in my feels or not… I check for this man.  Keep doing what you're doing Mac Ayres. The world appreciates. Press Play

“I don’t even like your type of pain
You don’t even ask me what’s my name
We just fit together like wet on rain” - NIIA

This song adds a lil vibe to my day that I need.  A lil funky. Lil smooth. Lyrics for days.

Royce da 5'9" - Cocaine

Without getting into it… I relate to this song.  Almost too much (minus the happy ending so to speak).  Royce is brilliant on this track. Melodic, deep, inspiring without being preachy… and the song breathed Hip Hop.

I heard the album and was blown away. I heard the song and almost cried.  A notable MC came out last year and had the audacity to say that Hip Hop doesn’t have songs that make you feel like this. I don’t know what’s in his Hip Hop, but mine helped to raise me.  I sure Royce’s last album, Book of Ryan, does the same. Press Play

Solange - Fubu

I...I swear to you I can write about this song.  I can write a blog about this song. I can write a book about this song.  But the best thing is to LISTEN to the song.

“When you know you gotta pay the cost/

Play the game just to play the boss/

So you thinking what you gained, you lost/

But you know your shit is taking off, oh/

When you driving in your tinted car/

And you're criminal, just who you are/

But you know you're gonna make it far, oh/” - Solange

Thank you Miss Knowles for your words.  For this song. This song… is not a song. It should be our anthem.

“This us, some shit is a must/

Some shit is for us…” - Solange
